The LIVING ARTS CENTRE is excited to be hosting the second installation of our very own street-dance festival – the ‘Sauga Street Dance Summit 2019 – “STREET POETRY”
In partnership with FULL STEP SAGA, the LAC will be transformed into a street dance experience that will inspire, celebrate and showcase the best of street dance.
A fresh follow up to the success of “7 Samurai” in 2018, STREET POETRY will transform the LAC into a cultural experience that will inspire, celebrate and showcase the best of street dance. This year we will be taking a look back at the foundations of the Street Dance and hip-hop movements that have left their imprint on leading dancers and culture today. Admission into this years event will include:
– Live theatre, music and dance performances
– Hip-Hop workshops & facilitation
– Open sessions & discussions
– Independent business vendors
– Film Shorts + video art
– The grand finale open cypher all-styles Street dance qualifier & “7 samurai” tournament battle!
Hosted by Canadian Hip-Hop & B-Boy pioneer, FrostFlow (Full Step Sauga) and MC Testament (P.E.A.C.E.) – this dynamic duo will lead participants through an action-packed program:
